Tehran ( DASTDOOZNEWS ) - Continuing to grow in production and consumption, the world’s total denim exports reached 4 billion 910 million dollars. In 2018, our country which exported 341 million dollars denim fabric, denim garment exports amounted to 1 billion 666 million dollars.
While the growth in the denim market has enabled the producers to make important investments in this business, fairs and organizations held in our country gather neighboring countries in our region. Producers with big goals in this field will meet at the 38th International Istanbul Mother and Baby Products Fair in order to increase their market share.
Turkey’s which is the fourth in the world in export of denim in 2018, share of the world market was 7 percent. Turkey’s market share in denim ready-to-wear exports was 4.5 percent. Tunisia is the first place with 54 million dollars in denim exports and Germany is the first with 299 million dollars in denim garment exports.
Stating that export figures continue to give confidence to the economy, Mother and Child Products Fair Director Hatice Dinçer said, “It is aimed to export denim fabric to the USA and Far East countries, especially to European countries. Turkish jeans exports have increased by 160 percent in the last decade and continue to be the locomotive of woven apparel exports. Thanks to the international trade agreements at CBME exhibition which will be held on 8-11 January 2020 in Turkey I believe that we will gain more strength of the denim industry in Turkey.”
