Iran experiences trade worth $51 billion with neighboring countries last year

Tehran (DASTDOOZNEWS) - Iran’s trade with the neighboring countries, which registered a 23% of growth in weight and 43% in value during the previous Iranian calendar year, has reached more than 100 million tons of commodities worth $51.9 billion, according to Customs.

Alireza Moghadasi, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announced, “The trade of 100,131,000 tons of commodities worth $51.875 billion between Iran and 15 neighboring countries was carried out, which the share of Iran’s export was 75,445,000 tons worth $26.029 billion and the share of Iran’s import was 24,686,000 tons worth $25.846 billion as well. Therefore, there was 12% growth in weight and 29% increase in export’s value and there was 68% in weight and 60% rise in import’s value during the last year.

The report shows that Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and Pakistan were the first five destinations of the Iran’s exports respectively.

Also, Oman, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are the next destination countries respectively.

According to the Deputy of Iran's Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Russia, Iraq and Oman have been the first five countries in Iran’s imports list respectively.

Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain were the next eight countries respectively which provided commodities for Iran.
